James "Jimmy" Kite (born February 18, 1976 in Effingham , Illinois ) is an American automobile racing driver .

Career

He made his debut in 1997 in the Indy Racing League , where he participated in over 30 races, including four starts in the Indianapolis 500 . In 2005 he intended to participate in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series . He started in four races before switching back to the Indy Cars, where he replaced the injured Paul Dana at Hemelgarn Racing and stayed for the rest of the season from the Indianapolis 500 onwards.

Since the end of the 2005 season he has largely withdrawn from racing and founded JK Hobby World in November 2006. His attempt to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 2007 with PDM Racing failed. For the 2008 race he was not given a place on a team.
