His death

Zámbó killed himself by an accidental shot in the head early in the morning on January 2, 2001. His extreme popularity and the unusual circumstance of his death provided the Hungarian tabloids with material for months of daily coverage of him and his family. After his death, he reached a record that no musician had ever achieved before. According to the mahasz , the Hungarian Association of Record Publishers , in the fifth week of the chart in 2001 he took the first 13 positions in the national LP charts with the 13 long-playing records that he had released during his career.
