Jingxing kiln

The Jingxing kiln ( Chinese  井陘窯  /  井陉窑 , Pinyin Jǐngxíng Yao , English Jingxing kiln ) is a famous ancient ceramic furnace in Jingxing mining area in the district Jingxing the Chinese province of Hebei , which was rediscovered only recently. It produced in the period of the Sui Dynasty, Tang Dynasty, Five Dynasties, Song Dynasty, Jin Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty for a period of over 1,300 years. The finds provide important information, especially for the time of the Tang, Song and Jin dynasties.

Among the finds were " (green) glazed large bowls with a compressed round shape and a stamped figure of Chinese giant salamanders ( Andrias davidianus ) playing in the water ".

Along with the Ding (in today's Quyang County ), Xing (in Neiqiu and Lincheng Counties ) and Cizhou (in Ci County, among others) kilns, it is one of the most important old kilns in Hebei .

The site of the Jingxing Kiln ( 井陘 窯 遺址  /  井陉 窑 遗址 , Jǐngxíng yáo yizhi ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-6) since 2001 .
