Jo Flinner
Joachim “Jo” Flinner (* around 1946) is a German jazz and fusion musician ( piano , keyboards ).
Live and act
Flinner already played in bands as a student and was awarded several prizes at symposia for jazz music in Hessen. In addition to his engineering studies at the TU Darmstadt , he led a pop jazz band under his own name. In 1972 he and Dieter Scherf founded the group Interaction (joint album 1973). In 1974 Interaction formed the rhythm section of Emil Mangelsdorff's quartet , to which Flinner and bassist Gerhard Bitter belonged until 1992. He also ran his own engineering office. Flinner then belonged to the FunJazz Quartet , which released two albums around the singer Jill Gaylord. He also gave solo concerts. He currently plays in JazzIQ Beats , in the Fun Organ Jazzquintet and in the Wiesbaden Sextet Jazztrack .
