Joachim Grabowski

Joachim Grabowski (* 1958 in Hechingen ) is a German psychologist. He has been Professor of Psychology and Private Lecturer in German Linguistics at the University of Hanover since 2009 , before that he was Professor of Educational Psychology at the PH Heidelberg since 1999 .

Life

Grabowski studied psychology , linguistics and literature at the University of Mannheim as well as computer science and mathematics at the FernUniversität Hagen . In 1984 he received his diploma in psychology and two years later his master's degree in German and linguistics. In 1990 he obtained his doctorate in philosophy and habilitated in psychology in 1996 and in German linguistics in 2000. He then worked as a visiting scholar at the University of Munich and as a substitute professor for psychology at the TU Chemnitz. Further substitute professorships for psychology followed in Tübingen, Mannheim and Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. From 1999 to 2009 he held a professorship for psychology at the PH Heidelberg; since then he has been professor for educational psychology at the University of Hanover . The venia legendi for German Linguistics has also been held by the University of Hanover since the rehabilitation in 2010. From 1998 to 2008 he was a member of the scientific advisory board of the Society for Applied Linguistics, where he headed the Psycholinguistics section. From 2003 to 2007 he was also the coordinator of the special interest group “Writing” in the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction. From 2008 to 2012 he was Scientific Secretary of COST Action IS0703.
