Joachim Haeger

Joachim Häger (born June 11, 1944 in Litzmannstadt ; † June 14, 2008 in Berlin ) was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice from 1989 until the end of his life .

After completing his legal training and working as a research assistant for several years, he joined the judicial service of the State of Berlin in 1977. In 1979 he was appointed judge at the Berlin Regional Court and from there from 1981 to 1985 he was assigned to the Federal Court of Justice as a research assistant. In 1985 he became a judge at the Higher Regional Court and in 1986 presiding judge at the Berlin Regional Court. In 1989 he was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice. Joachim Häger was a member of the 5th Criminal Senate without interruption, most recently as deputy chairman. He was also a member and deputy chairman of the Senate for Auditing Matters and the Senate for Tax Adviser and Tax Authorities Matters.

Joachim Häger was a member of the Grand Senate for Criminal Matters and also a member of the Joint Senate of the highest federal courts. From 1999 to 2006 he was a member of the Presidium of the Federal Court of Justice. Joachim Häger was also a lecturer in the law department of the Free University of Berlin for decades. He published, for example, as a commentator on §§ 36–43a StGB in the Leipziger Commentary .
