Joachim Müller-Jung

Joachim Müller-Jung (born March 10, 1964 in Heidelberg ) is a German science journalist .

Live and act

After graduating from high school, Joachim Müller-Jung studied biology at a commercial high school in Heidelberg and Cologne . During his studies he spent a long time in the virgin forests of Madagascar for research purposes and completed his studies with a thesis on the "reptile fauna of the island".

Müller-Jung began his journalistic work as a freelancer at the Kölnische Rundschau , where he completed a traineeship from 1993 to 1995 . He then became editor for the nature and science section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . In 2003 he took over the management of the department. In 2016 Müller-Jung won the META media ethics award from the Stuttgart Media University for his contribution "A moral moose test" in the FAZ.

Müller-Jung is married and has three children.
