Joachim Reidenbach

Joachim Reidenbach (born 1947 ) is a German composer , church musician (A) and conductor .

Life

Joachim Reidenbach received his church music training at the Saarland University of Music , Saarbrücken. He has given concerts at home and abroad with the chamber choir “Cantores Trevirenses”, which he founded in 1966, and received two first prizes in an international choir competition.

From 1978 to 2010 he was regional cantor in the diocese of Trier , from 1994 as cantor at the Basilica of St. Paulin , Trier. In the course of building up church music structures, he founded choir and instrumental groups, as their leader he performed church music works from all epochs (from the time of Gregorian chant to jazz and modern times ); including numerous works for solos, choir and orchestra.

Reidenbach has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon (1992) and the City of Trier's Cultural Honor Prize (2016).

Works

Joachim Reidenbach is the author of numerous sacred and secular works for different line-ups, including for choirs with orchestral accompaniment, chamber music ensembles and organ. His works are stylistically characterized by the inclusion of tonal references as a basis, the use of sound layers (dissonance sounds), the reference to jazz harmony and the inclusion of special rhythmic elements.
