Works

Joaquim Lloret i Homs graduated from Barcelona with a degree in architecture in 1915. He subsequently designed various villas in Barcelona, such as the tower-like Quinta de Sant Isidre (1920), built in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi on behalf of Isidre Pons de Pascual, and the Torre de San Fernando (1918) by the businessman Emilio Heydrich Martínez, Carrer Iradier 9–11, which today houses the Mossos d'Esquadra .

He was best known, however, for the rationalist building of the Clínica Barraquer (1934–1939) by the ophthalmologist Ignacio Barraquer, at 314 Muntaner Street. The building was built during the GATPAC period (the Spanish association of architects and artists the second Spanish republic ), but is visibly more influenced by the central European architecture of the 1930s. The spiral staircase is particularly important here.

Lloret i Homs also built several residential buildings that are now listed buildings, such as El Rancho Grande (1944) in Via Augusta between streets Muntaner and Santaló or the houses on Carrer Josep Bertrand 5, which he designed together with Teodoro Torné and Teresa Rovira .
