Jobst from Schirnding
Jobst von Schirnding was bailiff of Hohenberg (1451, 1455, 1459–1482) in Brandenburg-Kulmbach .
Jobst came from the Franconian noble family von Schirnding . In 1462, during the Bavarian War at Katharinenberg near Wunsiedel, he pushed the Bohemians back after their unsuccessful six-week siege of the city of Wunsiedel . Although the Bohemians were militarily superior, internal conflicts led to the disintegration of the attack alliance and ultimately to the withdrawal. In the tradition there is talk of a "longer" and a "closer Hussenrais", so regardless of the changed political and social circumstances, a reference was made to the Hussite Wars and the victory of Hans von Kotzau on the Katharinenberg.
