Jobst von der Recke (Canon)

Jobst von der Recke (* unknown; † November 2, 1625 ) was a canon in Münster .

Life

Jobst von der Recke came from the Westphalian noble family von der Recke and was the son of Jobst von der Recke zu Heessen and his wife Elisabeth von Ketteler zu Hovestadt. With the receipt of the tonsure on June 28, 1607 Jobst was prepared for a spiritual life. With the revolt to the Recke, Ketteler, Schencking and Wylich families on October 22, 1614, he took possession of the cathedral priest . The next day, emancipation followed. On April 3, 1625 Jobst became the provost of Soest St. Patrokli appointed and opted after the death of Provost Otto von Dorgelo the Officium Gassel . On September 19 of that year, the executors were appointed, including his brother Gottfried.
