Jochem Schmitt
Jochem Schmitt (born August 28, 1950 , † August 12, 2014 in Berlin ) was a German law scholar and university professor.
Life
Since August 1, 1990, Schmitt was Professor of Civil Law, Labor and Social Law at the Free University of Berlin . In 1997 Schmitt turned down a call to the Hagen Open University . Between 2004 and 2006, Schmitt was dean of the department. For many years he was co-author of the Munich Commentary on the Civil Code.
