JIPPO (stands for Joensuun Iloiset Peli-Pojat ) is a Finnish football club from Joensuu , which currently plays in the Ykkönen , the second highest Finnish league. The team's coach is Jarmo Korhonen. Home games are played in the Joensuun keskuskenttä or the indoor arena Joensuu Areena .

history

JIPPO was created in 2001 through the merger of JiiPee and Ratanat - both of whom played in the Kakkonen , the third highest Finnish class, and in which JIPPO played for the first four years from 2002 to 2005. The promotion to the Ykkönen succeeded in the 2006 season after JIPPO won the eastern group of the Kakkonen and Klubi-04 beat 2-1 in the play-offs for promotion. Arpad Mester scored the decisive goal. In 2014, the season ended with only five wins and five draws from the bottom of the table and thus rose again to the third-class Kakkonen.
