Live and act

Fransoyser probably came from a French family. In Hamburg he worked as a rich merchant and between 1286 and 1312 councilor. In August 1306 he negotiated together with the mayors Otto de Twedorpe and Johannes de Monte as well as other councilors with the Holstengrafen in order to provide them with food during regional battles. He also managed the building works of the Hamburg cathedral chapter and in October 1306 donated an altar endowed with 300 marks for the St. Nicholas Church for himself and his family .

Johann Fransoyser was married to Margaretha, a daughter of Nicolaus Clericus. The couple had at least two sons, Nicolaus and Johannes.
