Johann Ginzinger
Johann Ginzinger (born January 21, 1881 in Salzburg ; † March 22, 1929 in Linz , Upper Austria ) was an Austrian trade union official and social democratic politician .
Life
The son of a day laborer became a brewer's assistant. As early as 1907 he became a union official, and was particularly active as the second union secretary. During the First World War he was awarded the Bronze Medal for Bravery. In 1923 Ginzinger became director of the Linz slaughterhouse and sausage factory, which he carefully managed. He was a board member of the Upper Austrian Association for Consumer Organizations and the Savings and Credit Fund in Linz.
Between 1918 and 1923 he was a social democratic councilor in Linz, 1918/1919 a member of the provisional provincial assembly of Upper Austria and then until 1925 a member of the state parliament of Upper Austria . Here he devoted himself mainly to questions of food supply, which earned him little thanks. Ginzinger was a successful public speaker and was very popular with the workers, but his later roles significantly detracted from his popularity.
