Johann Hartmann (Mayor)
Johann Hartmann (* 14th or 15th century; † around 1450 in Aachen ) was a lay judge and mayor of the imperial city of Aachen .
Live and act
Hartmann was a member of the Aachen City Council from 1437 at the latest and was appointed Rentmeister in 1438 . During these years he also became a member of the "Bockzunft", the society of patricians , in which scholars, doctors, lawyers, merchants and officials were organized. From 1442 he was transferred to the office of the Sendschöffen and in 1444 at the latest he was accepted into the Aachen college of lay judges. Finally, in 1446, Hartman was elected mayor of the Free Imperial City of Aachen.
Johann Hartmann was married and had several children.
