Johann Heinrich Gruneberg

Johann Heinrich Grüneberg (born May 13, 1819 in Berlin , † October 9, 1872 in Berlin) was a German cook and canning company.

In 1867, Grüneberg invented the so-called pea sausage , with which the troops were fed during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870. He sold his invention to the Prussian state for 35,000 thalers and produced up to 65 tons of pea sausage per day in his canning factory with 1,700 workers.
