Johann Kaspar Fäsi
Johann Kaspar Fäsi (born January 28, 1795 in Zurich ; † August 3, 1848 in Brest-Litowsk ), also Johann Kaspar Faesi , Karl Karlovič Fezi (or Feze ; Russian Карл Карлович Фези , Russian Фезе ) and Karp Karpovič Fezi ( Feze ) , was a Swiss lieutenant general in Russian service.
Fäsi was the son of a history and geography teacher as well as secretary at the higher court in Zurich. In 1816 Fäsi joined the Russian army , participated among other things in the suppression of the Polish uprising in 1830/31 , and after his transfer in 1836 served in the Caucasus for seven years , including in 1842 as commander-in-chief in Dagestan .
Fäsi's campaigns are sung in a song: "Woe to us / Fäsi with the army / strive to us / where, and how / brothers, should we hide!"
