St. Barbara-Friedhof Linz, grave of the Planck von Planckburg family, in which Johann Michael Scheibenpogen is also buried.

Johann Michael Scheibenpogen (* 1703 ; † 1794 ) was city judge and 1765–1778 mayor of the Upper Austrian capital Linz .

He came from a well-known Linz shipmaster family. The banking house J. M. Scheibenpogens Eidam developed from the family's trading business , and it still exists today as the Oberbank .

Through his son-in-law Josef Planck , he was related to the later ennobled and influential Planck von Planckburg family.

Scheibenpogen is buried at the St. Barbara cemetery in Linz.

Appreciation

A street in the Spallerhof district of Linz is named after Scheibenpogen (Scheibenpogenstraße).
