Johann Moser (born February 3, 1954 in Weiz ) is an Austrian entrepreneur and politician ( SPÖ ) and a former member of the Austrian National Council .

education and profession

Johann Moser attended elementary school in Weiz from 1960 to 1964 and then went to secondary school until 1968. After graduating from the music and pedagogical secondary school in 1972, he studied economics at the University of Graz until 1979 . 1980 Moser did his military service.

Between 1979 and 1983 Moser was an economics assistant at the University of Graz and from 1982 to 1986 he worked as a consultant for economic policy for the Styrian Chamber of Labor. From 1986 to 1988 he was assistant at the Institute for Advanced Studies and Scientific Research and from 1988 to 1992 Minister Secretary to Minister Streicher. Between 1992, Moser worked as managing director of the Federal Association for Industrial Policy Measures and has been an entrepreneur since 2001.

Today he is the managing director of aws (austria Wirtschaftsservice), a funding institute for small and medium-sized enterprises subordinate to the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology.

politics

Between December 20, 2002 and October 29, 2006, Johann Moser represented the SPÖ in the National Council. There he was the economic spokesman for the SPÖ and co-author of the “Economic Program” and the “European Economic Program” of the SPÖ. After losing his mandate due to the interaction of several factors (minus 2% in the election for the SPÖ, ranking of the politician of the Liberal Forum Alexander Zachs in front of him on the SPÖ federal list, exclusive advancement of women on the federal list of the SPÖ when mandates become vacant because of the women's quota) he withdrew from active federal politics and returned to work as a manager. Moser is chairman of the Society for Social and Economic Sciences in the Association of Social Democratic Academics .
