Johann Sigmund Brechtel
Johann Sigmund Brechtel (also Brecht, Prechtl; * around 1575; † after 1637 probably in Regensburg ) was a German chronicler.
Life
Brechtel served as a clerk and civil servant in various Regensburg institutions. Among other things, he was the prince-bishop's registrar. He wrote a number of unprinted handwritten chronicles on the Regensburg area and the history of Bavarian aristocratic families. The main printed version is the Bavarian Thurnier Gender Register , published in Regensburg in 1625 .
