Johann Wachter (politician, 1884)

Johann Wachter (born March 26, 1884 in Schaan ; † August 12, 1959 there ) was a Liechtenstein politician (VU).

biography

Johann Wachter was the son of Johann Valentin Wachter and his wife Maria Aloisia (née Falk). He was a citizen of the municipality of Schaan and worked as a carpenter and farmer. From 1924 to 1958 he was the treasurer of the Liechtenstein health insurance company. From 1929 to 1951 he was the managing director of the Liechtenstein Farmers' Association. From 1927 to 1936 and again from 1940 to 1948 he was a member of Schaan's municipal council. For the Fatherland Union he sat for several years in the state parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein, first from 1939 to 1945 as a deputy member , from 1945 to 1953 as a member and finally again in 1953 as a deputy member.

In 1912 he married Johanna Josefa Wachter. The marriage resulted in nine children.
