Johanna Langanger

Johanna Long Anger (* 24. February 1935 in Sankt Lambrecht as Johanna Eichhübl ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1979 to 1994 she was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Johanna Langanger attended the primary school of the Ursulines in Klagenfurt after the elementary school St. Lamprecht . She then completed an apprenticeship as a retail clerk at the consumer cooperative in Knittelfeld from 1949 to 1952 and subsequently continued her professional education at the consumer cooperative. She worked professionally as a consumer worker in Sankt Lambrecht and subsequently became a department head or deputy branch manager in the textile division of Konsum Neumarkt in Styria . Between 1960 and 1965 she worked as the branch manager of Konsum Murau , and in 1965 she moved to the Jakob Ritter company in Dornbirn as managing director . She worked in this position until 1969 and in April 1961 became an employee of the SPÖ Vorarlberg. Until her retirement in July 1995, she worked for the SPÖ Vorarlberg and from October 1977 she was state women's secretary.

Politics and functions

After moving to Vorarlberg in 1965, Langanger became politically active. She joined the SPÖ in 1969 and was elected to the SPÖ-Dornbirn city party executive in 1970. As early as 1972 she took over the position of city chairwoman of the SPÖ women in Dornbirn, where she held this position until 1999. From 1972 she was also a member of the SPÖ district executive committee in Dornbirn and a member of the state party leadership. In addition, she held the office of district chairman of the SPÖ women between 1982 and 1989 in Dornbirn and from 1976 to 1995 the office of state chairwoman. She was also a member of the Federal Women's Committee from 1976. At the state level, Langanger also worked as a member of the state party executive from 1974 to 1995, was deputy state party chairman from 1976 to 1990 and at times a member of the state party presidium. At the federal level she was active as a member of the federal party executive between 1987 and 1995, she was also a member of the women's policy commission of the federal SPÖ and deputy federal chairwoman of the SPÖ women in Austria.

In local politics, Langanger was elected a substitute member of the Dornbirn city council in May 1980, and she held this position until April 2005. She was also a member of the trade union for private employees and a member of the state executive board and deputy chairwoman of Kinderfreunde Vorarlberg. She was also vice-president of ARBÖ Vorarlberg and a member of Naturfreunde Dornbirn.

As a member of the constituency of Dornbirn, she represented the SPÖ from November 6, 1979 to October 3, 1994 in the Vorarlberg state parliament, where she was the area spokesperson for social affairs and family as well as women's issues within the SPÖ state parliament club.

Private

Johanna Langanger was born as the daughter of foreman Roman Eichhübl and his wife Rosalia Eichhübl. She married the civil servant Josef Langanger in 1957 and had a son in 1954.
