Johanna Pink (* 1974 ) is a German scholar of Islam .

Life

After completing her doctorate in Bonn in 2002 , she has been professor of Islamic studies and the history of Islam at the Oriental Seminary at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg since 2012 .

Her main research interests are Muslim translations of the Koran, especially into Indonesian, Sunni Koran exegesis since the 18th century, Muslim conceptions of the religious and legal status of non-Muslims, religious and religious and legal transformation processes since the 19th century and recent history and society of Egypt.
