The Johannes-Kepler-Gymnasium (JKG) is one of two high schools in the city of Garbsen .

The JKG has been rebuilt and expanded several times since it was built in 1968. In the 2006/07 school year, a room was added that serves both as a canteen and an auditorium . With a few exceptions, the JKG is four-part. In some classes there are students with special educational needs. There has been a language learning class since 2014. Thomas Göhmann has been the headmaster of the Johannes-Kepler-Gymnasium since 2018 .

building

  • Main building: Grades 5 to 12 (13) are housed in the three-story main building. Since the beginning of 2013, 4 fifth grades and 2 sixth grades have moved into the newly created rooms of the old library.
  • Sports halls: There is a large hall with a grandstand for sports lessons, which is roughly the size of a handball field, and another smaller hall. In addition, the outdoor sports facility of the Garbsenes SC can be used.
  • Auditorium / canteen: Since the 2006/2007 school year, School Center I has had an auditorium or canteen, which is mainly used by the Johannes Kepler Gymnasium. In addition to a warm lunch and musical lessons in the auditorium, concerts or theater productions take place here.
