history
The church and the monastery were first donated elsewhere in 1650 by Bogusław Leszczyński . August II the Strong built the Saxon Palace in place of the original church and left it to the Brothers of Mercy of St. John of God New Land to build a new church, hospital and monastery. This was built in the Baroque style and inaugurated by Bishop Jan Joachim Tarło in 1728 . The church was destroyed by the Wehrmacht in the Warsaw Uprising and rebuilt after the war without a monastery or hospital.
