Johannes Denhoff

Johannes Denhoff (born March 12, 1958 in Ahaus ) is a German violinist .

Life

Johannes Denhoff, born into a family of musicians in Ahaus, Westphalia, was a young student in Münster at the age of thirteen. After winning national competitions several times, he received a grant from the Musikleben Foundation of the German Music Council .

This was followed by studies in the master class of Prof. Max Rostal and the chamber music class of the Amadeus Quartet in Cologne. At the same time, the founding of the Denhoff piano trio, with which Denhoff successfully performed concerts, radio and recordings for ten years.

After completing his studies - at the age of 24 - he was employed by the Remscheid Symphony Orchestra as the youngest first concertmaster in Germany and two years later he moved to the same position with the Braunschweig State Orchestra.

The concert activity as a soloist in various orchestras such as B. Philharmonia Hungarica , Southwest German Chamber Orchestra , Czechoslovak Chamber Orchestra, Rhenish Chamber Orchestra - and of course the Braunschweig State Orchestra , with conductors Stefan Soltesz , Philippe Auguin , Leopold Hager, Jonas Alber and others. a., as a chamber musician (2000 founding of the Braunschweiger Streiquartett), as a duo partner since 1997 with the pianist Alfons Kontarsky at home and abroad testify to Denhoff's versatility.
