Philippe Auguin

Philippe Auguin (born February 19, 1961 in Nice ) is a French conductor .

Philippe Auguin studied horn and voice at the Nice Conservatory . In addition, he also completed a degree in conducting. Further years of study at the Vienna Music Academy followed . In 1988 he successfully completed this course.

He became Herbert von Karajan's assistant for three years . He also worked with Georg Solti . He then conducted various well-known orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic , the Dresden Staatskapelle and the Orchester National de France .

Like many of his colleagues, he has conducted numerous operas in the most famous theaters (e.g. Scala , Metropolitan Opera ). In the early 1990s he was first conductor of the Stuttgart State Opera , and from 1994/95 General Music Director of the Braunschweig State Orchestra . In 1998 he became general music director at the State Theater in Nuremberg .

Auguin has been invited to several important festivals, such as the Salzburg Festival , the Hong Kong Festival and the like. a.
