Johannes Horst

Johannes Horst (born March 18, 1950 in Hürth ) was Chancellor of the German Sport University Cologne until August 1, 2014 .

Life and education

Horst studied law at the Universities of Bonn and Cologne . He completed his studies in 1975 with the first state examination and in 1978 the legal preparatory service with the second state examination.

Career

Until he was appointed Chancellor of the Sports University in 1999, he held various management positions in the university administration (including as Vice Chancellor of the University of Cologne). He did his doctorate on the subject of “Personal Proposal Rights in the University Sector” and is co-author of Leuze / Epping's commentary on the State of North Rhine-Westphalia University Act. Together with Martin Nolte , he is also the editor and co-author of the “Handbuch Sportrecht”. In addition, he is the author of numerous specialist publications on administrative law, in particular in science law and sports law. He is a member of the legal examination offices in Cologne and Düsseldorf. In 2012, he was appointed honorary professor for his special services in establishing sports law at the German Sport University in Cologne.
