Johannes Kottjé

Johannes Kottjé (* in Augsburg ) is a German architect and specialist book author .

Life

Johannes Kottjé studied architecture at RWTH Aachen . He finished his studies as a graduate engineer . Already during his studies he turned to building damage research and architectural journalism and after completing his studies worked for several years in Rainer Oswald's building expert office and in his Aachen institute for building damage research and applied building physics gGmbH . On the side he wrote his first books in the fields of architecture and building construction, partly together with Oswald. Today Kottjé lives in Marktredwitz and Königswinter and is self-employed as a building surveyor and author of architectural books and magazine articles.

Kottjé was especially popular with a larger audience through his books Housing made of Steel and PUR! The new simplicity of sophisticated residential buildings is known. Kottjé also dealt with building in existing buildings, for example in his volume New Living in Old Half- Timbered Houses . His books on built-in furniture and other individually designed furniture are all about interior design topics.
