Life

After graduating from high school in Celle, von Lüpke studied Protestant theology in Münster (Westphalia) , Tübingen and Bochum from 1970 to 1977 . He received his doctorate in 1986 from the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and completed his habilitation in 1993 at the same institution. It was adopted on February 23, 2017.

Research priorities

Von Lüpke researched as a recognized Lutheran - Reformation systematist and student of Oswald Bayer's theological concepts in the Age of Enlightenment , especially Gotthold Ephraim Lessing and Johann Georg Hamann , and the 19th and 20th centuries, especially Søren Kierkegaard and Friedrich Nietzsche .

Collaboration in institutions

Von Lüpke heads the International Hamann Colloquium . He is a member of the Standing Theological Committee of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland .
