Johannes von Tralau , also Tralowe († January 4, 1276 ) was called Johannes III. Bishop of Lübeck .

Life

Before his appointment as bishop Johannes von Tralau was a scholastic in Lübeck. Under him, the dispute over the Bailiwick in Eutin ended when he settled the remaining debt with 700 marks on St. Thomas's Day in 1261. He got on well with the Lübeck council and was strict with his canons. From the Teutonic Order , he brought the place Riepsdorf in the Oldenburg (Ribegkesdorpe) region to the diocese of Luebisch for 400 Marks, at the same time the jurisdiction and the tithe in Malente (Melente). Furthermore, 12 episcopal table goods, which he had acquired from Otto von Plön for 225 marks. He compared himself with the manor in Moisling because of the tithe from the places Moisling, Recke and Niendorf, which together was set at six marks Luebisch . On November 19, 1274, the Roman-German King Rudolf I enfeoffed his "silectus princeps" with the bishopric, regalia and secularities. He is the builder of Eutin Castle . In his time, the Marienkirche in Lübeck burned down and was given its current appearance from the subsequent reconstruction.
