Johanneskirche Arni

The Johanneskirche Arni is the village church of the Aargau community of Arni in Switzerland . It is owned by the Arni Ecumenical Church Association and was established in 1982 and 1983.

history

Already in the 1950s there was an interest in Arni on the part of the Roman Catholic population in their own church. That is why the Catholic Church Building Association was founded in 1952. After the goal of an own church could not be realized at first, the activities of the association fell asleep again in 1955, but were relaunched in the 1970s. Since the number of Reformed in Arni had increased significantly in the meantime, those responsible for the association contacted them and in January 1973 the ecumenical church building association was founded. After almost 150,000 francs had been collected at two village festivals, the general assembly of the association in May 1979 granted the necessary credit of 700,000 francs. The foundation stone was laid on September 18, 1982 and the bell consecration took place on April 24, 1983, at which Sylvia Michel , then pastor of the Bremgarten-Mutschellen parish, to which Arni belonged, performed the traditional "attack" with a hammer. The Catholic consecration of the church and the altar took place on September 4th of the same year.

In addition to church use, the church is also available to local associations.

Furnishing

The church has three bells that were cast in Aarau by the H. Rüetschi company . They are tuned in a, c and d.
