Johannimarkt (Holzen Monastery)
The Johannimarkt in the Holzen Monastery is a traditional fair in the Allmannshof district of Holzen in the Swabian district of Augsburg . It takes place every year in June on the Midsummer weekend around the Holzen Monastery and attracts thousands of visitors. When Kloster Holzen is a former convent of Benedictine nuns in Allmannshofen in the diocese of Augsburg in Bavaria .
Festival area in Holzen
The Johannimarkt always takes place in the Allmannshof district of Holzen on the road connecting Allmannshofen and Ehingen . The festival area covers the entire Klosterberg in Holzen, starting from Graf-von-Treuberg-Straße in the west to Klosterstraße at the Hotel Kloster Holzen in the southeast.
Parking is available in Holzen and on the connecting road in parking spaces designated by the fire brigade.
Johannimarkt
With around 130 market suppliers every year, the fair offers a large selection of stalls in the streets of the booths. The range of goods ranges from fashion and trend items to children's toys and housewares to handicrafts. Thanks to the amusement park with shooting range, swing ship, carousel and trampoline bungee, as well as the cozy beer tent and beer garden, there are also successful changes in return for shopping.
The showmen present mostly come from the Swabian area or are represented by local associations or private individuals. Every year ceramics for the house and garden, which were made by a workshop for disabled people, are presented in an exhibition and offered for sale.
The hustle and bustle of the marquee is accompanied by various music associations in the vicinity, for example the Ehingen musicians or the Ellgau youth wind orchestra Viva La Musica .

- Saturday
- On the weekend of Midsummer, the fair opens its gates every Saturday from 1 p.m. and invites you to stroll through the shops.
- The first band will play in the marquee from 6.30 p.m.
- Sunday
- Sunday begins at 8.30 a.m. with a joint festive service of the parish community in Nordendorf in the open air in the cloister courtyard. Over 60 acolytes from all affiliated parishes, as well as choirs and musicians, support this.
- From 10.30 a.m. you will be invited to a morning pint followed by a lunch with musical entertainment.
