John Burville Biggs

John Burville Biggs (* 1934 in Hobart , Tasmania ) is an Australian educational psychologist and novelist who developed the concept of constructive alignment and the SOLO taxonomy for assessing learning objectives. He studied psychology at the University of Tasmania until 1957 and received his doctorate in 1963 from the University of London . Until his retirement he held chairs in Australia, Canada, Great Britain and Hong Kong . Today he is honorary professor of psychology at the University of Hong Kong .

Since his retirement he has written four short stories and four novels.
