John Erik Fossum

John Erik Fossum (born May 7, 1956 in Stavanger ) is a Norwegian political scientist and professor at the University of Bergen .

Fossum studied in Bergen, where he completed his master's degree in 1981. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Masters in Political Science in 1983 . At the University of British Columbia in Canada he received his doctorate with the dissertation Assessing State Intervention: Federal Oil Policies 1973-84 . From 1990 he worked at the Institute for Administrative and Organizational Science at the University of Bergen, from 2004 as a professor. Fossum is now working at the ARENA - Center for European Studies at the University of Oslo .

In his research, Fossum has been very concerned with European integration . He is on the Scientific Advisory Board for the House of European History .
