John Faulkner (born April 12, 1954 in Leeton , New South Wales ) is an Australian politician .

Life

After finishing school, Faulkner studied art and education. After completing his studies, he was initially a teacher and then became a professional politician. Faulkner is a member of the Australian Labor Party . From 1989 to 2010 Faulkner served as a Senator in the Australian Senate . From June 2009 to September 2010 he was Minister of Defense in Australia, succeeding Joel Fitzgibbon .

Faulkner wrote several books on political subjects during his career.

Faulkner has two children with the politician Sandra Nori , from whom he is divorced.
