John Haire, Baron Haire of Whiteabbey

John Edwin Haire, Baron Haire of Whiteabbey (born November 14, 1908 - October 7, 1966 ) was a British politician (Labor).

Career

In the general election in 1945 he was elected to the House of Commons. There he represented Wycombe (South East England). He was able to defend his seat in the 1950 election, but lost it in 1951. He was defeated by William Astor of the Tories. In 1965 he was named a Life Peer with the title "Baron Haire of Whiteabbey, of Newtownabbey in the County of Antrim " (Northern Ireland).
