John Lestrange, 2nd Baron Strange of Blackmere

John Lestrange, 2nd Baron Strange of Blackmere (around 1306 - July 21, 1349 ), was an English nobleman.

He was a son of Fulk Lestrange and his wife Eleanor Giffard. After his father's death in 1324 and coming of age, he inherited the title of Baron Strange of Blackmere and the family estates in Shropshire . In 1332 he served as Justice of the Peace for Shropshire. Through the Writ of Summons he was called to the English Parliament several times between 1330 and 1344 . During the Hundred Years War he took part in the Battle of Crecy and the Siege of Calais in 1346 .

Around 1329 he married Ankaret Boteler, a daughter of William Boteler. He had several children including:

  • Fulk Lestrange, 3rd Baron Strange of Blackmere (1330-1349)
  • John Lestrange, 4th Baron Strange of Blackmere (around 1332-1361)

After his death, his widow married Thomas de Ferrers for the second time .
