John Moore

John Colinton Moore AO (born November 16, 1936 in Rockhampton ) is an Australian politician . He was a member of the Australian House of Representatives for the Liberal Party of Australia between 1975 and 2001. During this time he held several ministerial offices under Malcolm Fraser and John Howard . Among other things, he was Australian Secretary of Defense from 1998 to 2001 .

Life

John Moore was born on November 16, 1936 in Rockhampton, Queensland . In 1975 Moore was elected to the Australian House of Representatives in his federal constituency, Division of Ryan , of which he remained until his resignation on February 5, 2001. From November 3, 1980 to April 20, 1982 he was Minister of Economic Affairs under Malcolm Fraser. On March 11, 1996, Moore became Minister for Industry, Tourism and Science. He held this office in the Howard cabinet until October 21, 1998. At the same time he was the vice-presidentof the Executive Committee and Minister of the Cabinet, which he remained until January 30, 2001. His last ministerial post was that of Defense Minister, who Moore was from October 21, 1998 to January 30, 2001.
