John Whitehead (theologian)

John Whitehead ( bl. 1389-1415) was an Irish theologian .

Live and act

Whitehead was born in Ireland and studied at the University of Oxford , where he became Doctor theologiae in 1408 . On September 12, 1389, Whitehead was introduced as the successor to the late Thomas Braun in the parish or as rector of Stabannan. On December 6, 1399, Henry IV. Whitehead saw his absence from Ireland on a petition and continued to grant him grants and a leave of absence for another year. Whitehead was released again in 1409 and 1413, so that he took part in 1409 at the Council of Pisa as procurator of the Archbishop of Armagh , Nicholas Fleming . Whitehead was an influential man who was distinguished by strength of will and moral courage. Until 1415 he was rector of Stabannan, County Louth . Similar to Henry Crumpe and Richard FitzRalph , he was involved in several attacks against the Franciscans .
