Johnnie Allan

Johnnie Allan (* 10. March 1938 in Rayne , Louisiana as John Allen Guillot ) is an American Cajun - and rock 'n' roll musician.

Allan joined Lawrence Walker's band as a steel guitarist in his teens and then founded the Krazy Kats together with pianist and fiddle player UJ Meaux . Allan had some success with rock 'n' roll and R&B pieces since the late 1950s. His biggest success was a Cajun version of Chuck Berry's Promised Land ; however, he could never end up with a major record company.

In addition to music, he worked as a teacher; for a time he was even head of primary school.
