Joint Task Force Guantanamo

The Joint Task Force Guantanamo (JTF-GTMO) (dt. About "United Task Force Guantanamo") is a cross -armed force command of the US armed forces , which is stationed in the east of Cuba , in the Guantánamo Bay . The unit operates the Camp Delta internment camp at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base , to which terror suspects from Afghanistan and Iraq who have been captured since September 11, 2001 have been brought.

The JTF-GTMO reports directly to the US Southern Command . JTF-GTMO was established in November 2002 and formed from Task Force 160 and 170.

The current commanding officer is Rear Adm. Peter J. Clarke.
