Jon & Vangelis was a collaboration between the British singer Jon Anderson (from the band Yes ) and the Greek keyboardist Vangelis Papathanasiou (ex Aphrodite's Child ) in the field of electronic music .

From 1980 to 1991 they recorded four albums and had top hits with I Hear You Now and I'll Find My Way Home . Anderson wrote the lyrics and Vangelis composed the music.

history

The two artists met in the mid- 1970s on the British progressive rock scene. Vangelis was briefly discussed as keyboardist with Yes after Rick Wakeman left the band. Ultimately, however, Vangelis did not want to subordinate himself to any group. Anderson was a guest singer on two Vangelis albums ( Heaven and Hell 1975 and See You Later 1980), and he played the harp on another Vangelis album ( Opera Sauvage 1979).

In 2011, Anderson reached out to Vangelis to inquire about a possible new collaboration, but received no response.
