Jonas Frei
Jonas Frei (born June 28, 1979 in Wattwil , Switzerland ) is a Swiss film distributor and film producer . He is the founder of the company MovieBiz film & Lakeside film.
life and career
Jonas Frei grew up as the second youngest of eleven siblings in Wattwil in Toggenburg . In 1996 he began an apprenticeship as a structural draftsman. Although he completed his apprenticeship, he never worked in the profession afterwards. In 2006 he founded the distribution company MovieBiz Films to bring smaller film productions to the cinema. In 2010 he shot his first film Panamericana with his brother Severin and his colleague Thomas Rickenmann , which documentary provides insight into the lives of many individual fates who live on the longest street in the world, the Panamericana . In 2013 he co-produced the feature film Himmelfahrtskommando and in 2015 another documentary,Camino de Santiago , which was evaluated in cinemas in Germany and Austria in addition to Switzerland. In 2019 he founded the distribution company Lakeside Film with a partner to exploit films in Germany and Austria.
