Jonas Jurkus

Jonas Jurkus (born February 24, 1954 in Staiginė , Rajongemeinde Tauragė ) is a Lithuanian politician, mayor (1990–1995) and deputy mayor (1987–1990) of Mažeikiai .

Life

From 1961 to 1965 he studied in Meldikviršiai near Tauragė and from 1965 to 1968 at the Martynas Mažvydas School. In 1969 he graduated from the Žukai school in the Šilutė district and from 1969 to 1971 the Klaipėda technical vocational school . From 1977 to 1981 he studied at the political technical college in Mažeikiai . From 1982 to 1986 he studied at the Kauno politechnikos institutas . From 1990 he was a deputy in the Mažeikiai Council. From 2000 to 2004 he was a member of the Seimas .

He is a member of the LSDP .
