Jonas Krahn
Jonas Krahn (born December 14, 1984 in Berlin ) is a German extreme sportsman in the field of free diving and apnea diving . After completing various intermediate sporting stages in his youth, he began apnea diving in 2004. His mentor was the internationally recognized German apnea diver Wolfram Neugebauer .
Diver profile
Krahn is one of the best German apnea divers (as of 2011) and is the most successful apnea diver in Germany in terms of points. He owes his nickname "Sea King" to a series of sea records; so he holds four out of five possible sea records. In 2011 he set an all-German record in the lake instead of the sea for the first time. In the summer of 2011, he was the first German to dive under his own steam to a depth of 80 meters. In the world rankings, he is in the category (FIM) among the twenty best athletes (male).
In total, Krahn has so far set eleven national records, of which he still holds four. He is also the world record holder in the “Dynamic No Fins open water” category.
societies
Krahn dived from 2004 to 2010 in the apnea division of the Tauchsport Club Berlin. Since January 2011, he has been a member of the Utopian Freedivers, which he founded together with Benjamin Bartoli. This association currently includes four other young athletes. Krahn is also the official athlete of the German national team.
National squad
Krahn completed his first and so far only world championship in 2005, where he finished fifth. Nevertheless, he is regularly appointed to the selection of the national team.
