Jonas Mačys
Jonas Mačys (born April 18, 1938 in Igliškėliai , Marijampolė district ; † October 10, 2012 in Lithuania ) was a Lithuanian politician.
Life
From 1946 to 1954 he studied at the Igliškėliai school and from 1954 to 1958 he graduated from the Kaunas Agricultural Technical Center and in 1964 the diploma course in agriculture at the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija . In 1980 he received his PhD in agricultural science.
From 1964 to 1967 taught at the Technikum Aukštadvaris , from 1967 to 1976 worked as an agronomist in Šakiai , from 1976 to 1978 as the deputy chairman of the collective farm "Į komunizmą" in Vilkaviškis . From 1978 to 1990 he was a research assistant at the research station in Rumokai .
From 1990 to 1992 he was a member of the Seimas , from 1995 to 2003 a member of the council of the district municipality of Vilkaviškis , from 1995 to 2000 mayor .
