Jonas Tatoris

Jonas Tatoris (born June 17, 1925 in Medeikiai , Biržai district ; † March 6, 2004 ) was a Lithuanian art historian.

Life

After graduating from high school in Biržai in 1943 , he completed the courses for sports teachers in Kaunas and from 1945 studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Vilniaus dailės institutas , but in 1946 he was sentenced for anti-Soviet activity and deported. In 1971 he graduated in art history at Vilniaus dailės institutas. From 1958 he lived in Klaipėda , taught at the Klaipėda Chair of the Vilniaus dailės akademija, and from 1995 to 1997 was a member of the Klaipėda City Council .

From 2002 he was an honorary citizen of Klaipėda .
