Jonathan Bryan Guinness, 3rd Baron Moyne (born March 16, 1930 ) is a British peer , entrepreneur and politician.

life and career

Guinness is the eldest son of Bryan Guinness, 2nd Baron Moyne . His mother Diana Mitford divorced her husband in 1934 and was first the mistress and later the wife of Sir Oswald Mosley . He first attended Eton College and then studied at the University of Oxford .

He initially worked as a journalist and later as a financial advisor. He was also a member of the board of directors of the family company Guinness from 1960 to 1988 . From June 1972 to March 1974 he was chairman of the Monday Club , one of the Conservative Party's affiliated, right-wing advocacy groups , and then until the end of 1990 its deputy chairman.

When his father died on July 6, 1992, he inherited his title Baron Moyne , including the associated seat in the House of Lords . He gave his inaugural address to Parliament on October 20, 1992. He lost his hereditary seat in Parliament with the House of Lords Act 1999 . Guinness is also the author of several books.

Guinness was married twice, his second wife died in 2005. He has two sons and a daughter from his first marriage and a son and another daughter from his second marriage. He has three other children with a long-time lover.
